Muff Diver Charters Fishing Report - White Marlin Open 2013

White Marlin Open 2013

8/5. We had saw and caught nothing. We were in the Washington canyon. A couple of big eyes caught there.

8/6. We had two bites today. One mystery and the other a white marlin that tried to eat a mackerel – that did not work out so well for us – he could not get it down so he threw it up. We were fishing behind the rock pile.

8/7. Rough weather so we started on the 50 fathom line at the rock pile and trolled out to 500 fathoms fishing natural baits. We did have a bite so at noon I was not happy with our production. Our spread looked great but I was just not getting it done so we changed over to all plugs and started trolling faster and towards the Poor Man’s canyon. When i picked up the speed we found that we had a bouncing shaft that we are getting taken care of before our next trip. I feel that it had a bearing on our inability to see fish. But it did not stop a 300 pound blue marlin that pounced on our flat line and Terry Briggs caught in in less than a half hour. Terry did a great job and so did the entire crew – we had a great group of anglers – no hogs, quite sharing – a pleasure fishing with such folks.

The group of anglers were Terry Briggs, Thomas Kreer, Dale Christensen, Paul Reaser, Marcus Walker and Aaron Banker. The crew of Muff Diver “thank you” all for fishing with us.
